1 Visualization

  • Automatic handling of large coordinates

Ruins as a point cloud in Cyclope3D, the stones sharp point by point; at the bottom, the pivot in world coordinates, X 1,846,220 and Y 4,194,966.
  • Multiple renderings

Texture, flat color, height, depth, relief, X-ray.

The point cloud of a church, each point carrying the color recorded on site. The same cloud in flat color with shading: the shape alone, without the survey colors. The same cloud colored by height: blue at the bottom, red at the top of the spire. The same cloud in X-ray mode: what lies behind adds up instead of being hidden.
  • Display of all 3D model attributes

The coloring menu of a point cloud in Cyclope3D: RGB, height, intensity, classification, return number, scan angle, GPS time, and the file's other fields.
  • Normal visualization (tangent or object space)

A building colored by the orientation of its surfaces (normals): roof, walls and vaults each take their own hue.
  • Sharpness adjustment and brightness balance of 3D models

Sharpness, shadows, midtones and highlights, on screen and in the orthoimages.

A tapestry as a textured mesh in Cyclope3D: under the coloring, the four sliders for sharpness, shadows, midtones and highlights.
  • 3D model grouping

    Shared color ramps, attributes, etc.

Three LAS point clouds gathered in “Groupe 1” in the Cyclope3D scene, and the ruins they form together.
  • Reversed faces (meshes)

Surfaces facing the view hidden: the interior shows from outside.

A state room as a textured mesh, seen from outside: the walls facing the view are hidden, showing the fireplace, the paintings and the furniture.
  • Visual filling of point clouds

Gaps between points are filled on screen and in 2D extractions.

A stone wall and its doorway, without filling: the points stay separate. The same wall with filling: the surface looks continuous.
  • View adapted to PC resources

Progressive or reduced loading of meshes, point clouds or 3DGS.

Inside the shelter, in texture: the stone bridge and the walls built against the rock.
  • FPV navigation with a 3D mouse

    Orbit or free-flight navigation.

The 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Pro 3D mouse.
  • Screenshots up to 16,384 pixels

A detail of a very high-resolution screenshot: the panels and ironwork of a wooden door.

2 Analysis & checking

  • Noise analysis

    On several clouds at once.

A church wall colored by the noise level of the point cloud: green on smooth masonry, orange and red where the points stray from the surface.
  • Detection and correction of flipped faces

Automatically or with a click, on meshes and clouds alike.

A wall section whose faces point into the building: it shows in solid blue instead of its texture.
  • Point density and point spacing check

A church and its surroundings as a point cloud, colored by point density.
  • Slope analysis

A model seen from above, colored by surface slope: blue for horizontal surfaces, red for vertical ones.
  • Intersection line display to check scan or photogrammetry alignment

Two point clouds of a forest in Cyclope3D: in green, their intersection lines with the clipping box, offset from each other.
  • Color ramps (min‑max and saturation)

The color ramp setting in Cyclope3D: ramparts colored by height, from blue to red, with the histogram, bounds at 254.74 and 299.88 m and saturation between 264.33 and 278.13 m.

3 3D model editing

  • Fine, clean cutting of models

Cut at the faces of the clipping box, with no open triangle.

The room before cutting: an armchair and the stool in front of the fireplace. The same room after excluding: the contents of the clipping box are gone, leaving the floor.
  • Section line generation for meshes, point clouds and 3DGS

A generation confidence index is provided for point clouds and 3DGS.

The same section on a point cloud: no fill, and the section line colored from green to red according to the confidence in each segment.
  • Point cloud reduction

The point cloud reduction window in Cyclope3D, on a 201-million-point cloud: random sampling or minimum spacing, here 5 mm.
  • Export of 3D models after cutting and analysis

Meshes, 3DGS and point clouds, with the changes made and the computed data fields.

A timber frame as a textured mesh, exported from Cyclope3D and opened in CloudCompare: 1,368,128 faces, textures loaded.

4 Preparation & extraction

  • View placement and alignment

    • Converting a section into an elevation, and back
    • Duplicating plans, sections and elevations
    • Quick +90° rotation
    • Snapping to round levels (5 cm steps minimum)
    • Automatic view numbering
    • Orthoimages georeferenced in global coordinate systems
  • Four view types

Plan, inverse plan (ceiling, roof structure), section, elevation.

Section A2 in Cyclope3D: the building cut open, its floors and roof structure exposed, and the view settings, including the 5 mm/pixel resolution.
  • Section orientation from two clicked points

Section A of Notre-Dame de Dijon in Cyclope3D: on the right, the view orientation and the button that sets it from two clicked points.
  • AutoCAD DWG

With layers, polylines and images as external references.

The delivered DWG open in AutoCAD: the ground floor plan, its eleven layers and its nine linked images in the left-hand panels.
  • Groupings

One drawing of the plans, overlaid, and one of the elevations and sections, side by side, as external references.

The elevations and sections grouping open in AutoCAD: the seven views of the church side by side, their layers in the layer manager, and the height of each plan drawn in magenta across every view.
  • One PDF per view

With the layers of the drawing and the title of the view.

The PDF of the ground-floor plan open in a reader: the layers panel lists the texture, the depth, the solid fills and the polyline, each one shown or hidden on its own.
  • Depth representation relative to the view

A cave as a mesh, colored by depth relative to the view: red in the foreground to blue at the back.
  • Customizable orthoimage background color

    To match graphic guidelines.

The orthoimage background color window in Cyclope3D, set to a cream tone (#ede5d8).
  • Contour orthoimage export

To support synthesis work through drawing.

A contour orthoimage: a Gothic gallery, its tracery, gargoyles and foliage rendered as black lines, ready to be traced.
  • Transparent solid-fill generation

Overlaid on the other views, or built into each orthoimage.

The south elevation of Saint-Philibert with the solid-fill layer laid over it, in transparent blue, at the foot of the church.
  • Customizable representations: intensity, normals, classification, etc.

    Added to the drawing outputs.

An orthoimage delivered as a normals representation: a roof seen from above, each surface orientation with its own hue.
  • Color ramp and distance scale bar

    In the images.

A depth orthoimage delivered by Cyclope3D: at the bottom, the color ramp from 0 to 64.3 m, the 2 m scale bar and the “Created with Cyclope3D” mark.
  • Logo and copyright

    Adjustable position and size.

The corner of a delivered orthoimage: the client's logo (Geokali), the 2 m scale bar and the “created by Cyclope3D” mark.
  • File and layer names compatible with AutoCAD / Vectorworks

Accents and forbidden characters corrected on entry.

Windows Explorer open on the Saint-Philibert church folder: one folder per view — sections, elevations, plans —, the .extracts project file and the two groupings, each as DWG and DXF.
